Barré fabric

Barré refers to transverse stripes created by weaving or printing.

Basic Kent collar

At ETERNA, the basic Kent collar is a classic among collar shapes. Its hallmark is its narrow shape - and it’s best combined with classic neckties in a simple knot. The basic Kent collar is suitable for many occasions and is ideal for formal business fashion.

Basket weave

This is a type of plain weave. Fabrics in basket weave stand out due to their cool, dry, firm feel. The fabric has a checked pattern created by the weave.

Bicolour Chambray

A two-tone Chambray fabric is known as bicolour Chambray.

Black Tie

'Black tie' is a term used for a certain dress code. If an invitation or event announcement specifies a 'black tie' dress code, it means the occasion is festive. The proper dress is a black or dark blue dinner jacket with a white shirt, white pocket square and a black bow tie. Plain black shoes with a thin leather sole are the proper footwear for this occasion. Ladies wear a floor-length evening gown. Typical black-tie events are visits to the opera, balls and the Academy Awards.

Blouse

Today, blouses are understood to be shirt-style clothing items worn by women. They come in numerous different cuts, collar shapes and sleeve lengths. Blouses can be worn on a broad range of occasions. In business fashion, shirt blouses in muted colours are common. For leisurewear, blouses with a casual cut or in tunic style are very popular. For festive events, feminine styles made of silk and softly flowing fabrics are suitable.

Bow tie

Bow ties often replace a tie on very festive occasions. Remember that only specific types of shirts and jackets can be combined with bow ties. Bow ties are the only acceptable tie for dinner jackets and tailcoats. Bow ties are often referred to as a bow or a cross tie.

Business look

The classic, rather conservative business look consists of a suit with a collared shirt and a necktie for men, and a trouser suit or skirt suit for women. Muted colours are the most appropriate for suits, preferably dark blue, brown and grey. They are ideally combined with single-coloured shirts and blouses.

Button-Down collar

Button-down collars are hallmarked by the two buttons used to fasten the wings of the collar to the shirt. The collar has no stiffeners, and the buttons contribute to a sporty look. Shirts with button-down collars are worn especially in leisure time, often combined with a country look.
